a note from a recent graduate

“There are many things I could highlight, but what stands out most is the care, thought, time, and energy poured into creating this program. From the manual to graduation weekend, every detail was seamlessly planned. The supportive atmosphere was free of competition and full of encouragement, allowing us to embrace being beginners and show up as our authentic selves.

This YTT program helped me discover my purpose in life. My intention from the start was to teach, and now, I’m truly grateful to be part of the team of teachers at Soul Sweat. More importantly, it changed how I see myself in this world. It helped heal parts of my soul I never thought I could get back. I treat myself with more kindness and grace, even during tough moments. Sharing yoga with others is a meaningful gift, and if you’re considering YTT, you already understand how powerful this practice is, spiritually, mentally, and physically. So imagine, teacher training.” - Alyssa Smith, 200 RYT from our 2025 program

together, we will study, learn, grow, practice, move, breathe, and flow.

  • In addition to meeting the rigorous standards of the Yoga Alliance, our program takes a hands-on approach to honing your yoga teaching skills. We believe that the best way to learn is by doing, and real, in-person practice in teaching yoga is crucial to providing you with the most beneficial experience. We also place great value on learning within a group dynamic and nurturing relationships that extend far beyond your graduation. The students and instructors on this journey with you will become more than just your peers - they will become your friends, your support system, and your community to rely on throughout this process.

Teaching yoga is an incredible opportunity to broaden one's perspective and delve deeper into the most valuable subject: yourself. Together, we will study, learn, grow, practice, move, breathe, flow, and fully immerse ourselves in this wonderful journey!

  • vicky cooley

Vicky is a passionate and dedicated RYT 200 certified yoga instructor who was first introduced to yoga at a young age. She fondly remembers attending a yoga class and being captivated by the idea that the adults were engaging in what seemed like play. Since then, yoga has become an integral part of her life, evolving from a mere interest to a deeply cherished practice. Having initially trained in Ashtanga yoga, Vicky's curiosity extends to every style of yoga. She completed her teacher training certification at Ashtanga Yoga Puerto Rico in 2017, marking the beginning of her journey as a yoga instructor.

Vicky's commitment to continuous learning and growth in yoga and Ayurveda is unwavering, with a specific focus on anatomy, both physical and energetic. In addition to her yoga practice, Vicky is currently pursuing further education in massage therapy and Ayurvedic Health Counseling. Her passion lies in exploring the intersection between western and eastern science and paradigms, seeking to deepen her understanding of holistic health and wellness practices. Vicky's dedication to her personal growth and her commitment to sharing her knowledge and experiences with her students make her a valuable and inspiring yoga teacher.

  • carolyn miller

Carolyn Miller has been an esteemed member of the Soul Sweat teaching team since 2018 and is set to take on the role of lead trainer. Her journey in yoga education began in 2012 when she completed her 200-hour certification under the guidance of Rolf Gates. In 2022, Carolyn furthered her expertise by obtaining her 300-hour certification with My Vinyasa Practice. In her initial yoga teacher training, Carolyn delved deep into the traditional yogic principles, laying a strong foundation for her teaching practice. In her continuous pursuit of knowledge, she expanded her horizons by immersing herself in various styles of yoga, including trauma-informed and Yin yoga during her recent training.

Carolyn recognized the importance of staying current in the ever-evolving yoga community, especially with the significant shifts in the global landscape over the past decade. Drawing inspiration from her lineage of teachers in Kripalu and Ashtanga yoga, Carolyn's classes emphasize safe alignment and the meditative quality of movement. She views yoga as a transformative practice that has the power to create positive change in the world. Through her dedication to sharing the practice of yoga, Carolyn believes that offering teacher training programs will have a lasting impact on spreading the benefits of this ancient practice to a wider audience.

  • guest instructor: jess rockwell

Jess is an E-RYT 200 and has been sharing the magic of movement for 10 years now. Trained initially in vinyasa style yoga with sprinklings of ashtanga and "power", her knowledge base has expanded continuously ever since. She is constantly searching for strong and playful ways to move her own body and once learned, translate that through her teachings. The practice of yoga sparked a passion + strength within her that has become part of my daily life. Jess believes that moving our physical body is a conduit to our emotional, spiritual and energetic layers, but most of all, a means of connection to the divine.

Through the path of yoga, she has had the opportunity to lead retreats, create workshops, grow studios (in person and online) sharing with many wonderful people across the world. She loves teaching students (aren’t we all students) and she loves teaching teachers. Helping teachers find their unique voice, refine their skills and access genuine confidence in themselves is one of her favorite things! She has continued her education into the realms of restorative yoga, meditation, anatomy and most recently hand balancing.

“I believe once the practice of yoga is in your heart, you will have it for life.” JR

  • guest instructor: elizabeth voytershark

Yoga has been one of Elizabeth's guiding lights since she was 16. In 2019, she deepened her practice through certified Yoga Teacher Training. Elizabeth is also a certified Reiki Level III Practitioner, Meditation Guide, and Sound Healing Practitioner, weaving these healing techniques throughout her teachings to create a holistic and transformative experience. Her teachings emphasize the importance of balance - both on and off the mat - by embracing the interplay of yin and yang, effort and ease, movement and stillness. Through this approach, she encourages students to cultivate harmony within themselves, recognizing that true well-being comes from integrating both strength and surrender. When we find balance within, we align with the natural rhythms of the earth - the ebb and flow of the tides, the cycles of the moon, the changing of the seasons. In this alignment, we step into a dance with nature, becoming co-creators of our own reality. From this space of harmony, we can manifest a life rich in health, abundance, creativity, love, and wisdom. We open ourselves to receiving all that is meaningful to us, living in flow with the infinite intelligence that surrounds and resides within us. Time and time again, Elizabeth is reminded of the profound healing power that resides within each of us, and she is honored to help others in remembering their own inner light.
